21/12/08       Feltwell s.c.       V       Danepak f.c.           League

Danepak travelled to face Feltwell & left with nothing ,having given Feltwell an early xmas present of 3 points. Danepak started the first half playing up the slope & having to do plenty of defending.Danepak managed to limit Feltwell to a couple of half chances untill they took the lead when a shot hit a Danepak defender & looped up & over keeper Gavin Webb & in.

Danepak hoped to use the slope to their advantage in the 2nd half,but never got a chance as Feltwell totally dominated the play scoring a 2nd goal within minutes of the kick off. Feltwell added 4 further goals, including an own goal,a penalty & a simple header at the far post.Danepak pulled a consilation goal back through Ryan Kirwan.

14/12/08        Danepak f.c.       V     Ashill Hart f.c.       League

Danepak dominated the opening stages of this game playing some good football but failing to get on the score sheet.As the half wore on ashill began to have more of a say in matters but like danepak lacking up front.Both sides had a few off target efforts & most of the game was being played in the middle third.With the half coming to an end Ashill were awarded a free kick just out side the area,from which they scored via a deflection off the wall.

The second half again started with danepak on top,but it was Ashill who scored again when ex Danepak striker Matt bunten fired home.Danepak continued to toil but were not getting anymhere with all of their moves breaking down before a shot could be produced.Danepak manager John Lambert made some changes with Michael Lankshear coming on in place of Ben Fulcher & marty goodwin being moved from left back to a striking role,this soon payed off as goodwin got on the end off a good through ball & fired home.With Danepak on the up Joe Martins scored an equalizer ,his first for the club. Either side could have gone on to win but the game went a little bit flat & ended in a draw.

12/10/08        Danepak f.c.        V  Red Lion                League

Danepak faced the lion knowing that only a top performance would continue their unbeaten start to the season.The lion started  brightly causing the danepak defence plenty of problems & took the lead in the early stages of the game.Danepak regrouped & were soon on level terms after Ryan Kirwan cut across the lion defence ,rounded the keeper & slotted the ball home.Red lion retook the lead soon after & added a further 3 goals before half time,with Kirwan netting a Danepak 2nd.

The 2nd half remained goaless for first half hour with both sides having plenty of good passages of play in the middle third of the pitch,the Lion showed off their goal scoring talents  by scoring 3 more goals to kill off the game. A well contested game with both teams equally matched in most areas but with the lion dominant with their forward play scoring from  most of their chances while danepak struggled to find the net.

05/10/08        Danepak f.c.      V  Watton International      League

The game was preceded by a minutes silence,a mark of respect for the late Peter Page,Former BADSFL Chairman & life member, who sadly passed away on saturday.

The game kicked off in very wet conditions with both teams having plenty of the ball in the middle third of the pitch,without causing either keeper any problems.Danepak took the lead when Ryan Kirwan controlled a Michael Lankshear through ball,rounded the keeper & cooly stroked the ball home.A second Danepak goal soon followed when a Lankshear free kick was handled in the area,with Paul Williamson scoring the resulting penalty.Danepak had a couple more chances but Kev Richardson saw his goal bound header cleared & a second effort headed over.Watton began to create some chances of their own forcing Danepak keeper Gavin webb into several good saves before they pulled a goal back after some good work down the left wing followed by a low drive across the face of the goal & into the corner of the net. Watton were now having more of the play,but it was Danepak who scored again when Matt Bunten saw his cross sail over everyone & into the back of the net.

The second half began with Watton pushing forward but being kept at bay by the Danepak defence with several good tackles & saves.As Watton commited more men forward Danepak caught them on the break several times resulting in Jack Bloss hitting the bar with a fierce drive & then Captain Kev Richardson heading home at the back post from a corner.Watton were then reduced to 10 men after recieving a straight red card . Danepak sealed the victory when matt Bunten finished of a good move at the far post.

A mention must go to ref Ray Venemore for his comman sense approach when dealing various fouls & incidents caused by the very wet conditions.

21/09/08       Breckland Spirit  V    Danepak f.c.        League

Danepak travelled the short distance to face Spirit in their second league fixture of the season.With the sun shining the game kicked off with Spirit quickly getting into their stride & playing some neat pass & move football resulting in a couple of good chances neither of which troubled Danepak's stand in keeper Kev Richardson.Danepak started to have more impact on the game but failing to find a final ball to finish off some good pieces of play.Spirit continued to push forward & forced a couple of top saves from Richardson during a series of corners & chances.Spirit were having the lions share of the play,but it was Danepak who took the lead mid way through the half when Graeme Lockwood fired home for his 4th goal of the season,a second nearly followed when lockwood hit the bar & then shot straight at the keeper in a good position.

The 2nd half saw spirit continue to enjoy large periods of possession but failing to test Richardson in the Danepak goal.This changed mid way through the half when a spirit cross was fizzed across the Danepak goal &  tapped in by an unmarked player at the back post ,to level the scores.Dissapointed by this slip up Danepak started to push in search of a 2nd goal & came close when Paul Williamson's header was cleared off the line & Matt Buntens turn & shot sailing inches wide.With time running out & a draw looking to be the final outcome ,Danepak lauched another attack which resulted in several shots being half cleared by Spirit before Ryan Kirwan scored the winning goal for Danepak.

07/09/08      Danepak f.c.     V    P.L.Rangers         County Cup

Danepak entertained P.L.Rangers in their first home game of the season, and started brightly playing some good passing football & creating some good goal scoring chances,but were kept at bay by a couple of good saves from the  Rangers keeper. Both teams were enjoying a fair share of possession but Danepak had more attacking play & took the lead when Graeme Lockwood fired in his 2nd of the season.A 2nd Danepak goal soon followed with Jack Bloss slotting home after the Rangers keeper could only parry  a Craig Davis shot. As the half wore on Rangers started to create some chances of their own & after a couple of near misses pulled a goal back just before half time.

The 2nd Half started with Rangers winning & scoring a penalty & then soon after taking a 2-3 lead, Danepak battled back with goals from Toddy Hargrove & Lockwoods 2nd to move back into the lead,further goals could have been added but Hargrove & Davis both hit the woodwork,with time running out for Rangers managed to equaliz & take the tie into extra time.

Extra time saw Danepak begin to tire & Rangers step up a gear ,scoring soon after the restart & add another from the penalty spot before finishing the game off with 2 more goals after several misstakes & sloppy play from  Danepak.

Danepak faced league new boys Abbey United, in their opening game of the season.Danepak secured all 3 points in a hard fought game winning 2-3  with goals from Craig Davis, Ryan Kirwan & Graeme Lockwood.
